A computerized Data Bank has been established under the Data Information Management Division to provide a comprehensive source of statistical information and to coordinate the flow of information in the agriculture sector. It is specially designed to provide information to government officials, policy makers, researchers and businessmen in the agriculture sector. The Data Bank comprises of two types of data, namely Development Indicators and Survey Archives. (i) Development Indicators are the secondary statistics collected from government agencies on various Development Indicators. At present the collection consists of relevant data concerning all factors relating to agricultural development. (ii) Survey Archives include primary data generated in field surveys that have been conducted by the Institute. HARTI data bank also provides consultancy, user and supplier education, training in computer use and an awareness service to assist in the retrieval and processing of information from the Data Bank.
